The History of Oats
Oats were domesticated about 3000 years ago in Europe. This is quite late relative to other cereal grains. Oats were brought to North America in 1602 with some other grains.
Oats have a rare natural antioxidant that delays rancidity. So, before chemical preservatives were discovered bakers used to add some oats to their baked goods to increase the shelf life and slow down the speed of which they become stale.
The History of Honey
Honey goes back thousands of years. Honey was not just used as a sweetener but also for medicine purposes. In ancient times people considered honey a luxury product that only the rich could get.
Egyptians are the first people who kept beehives. They moved the beehives up and down the Nile depending on the season for pollination.
The benefits of Honey and Oats in soap
Oats are great for washing sensitive skin. Oats in soap act as a mild cleanser since they have saponin.
They are also great for people suffering from Psoriasis and Eczema since it adds moisture to the skin, restores the skins barrier and reduces inflammation and itchiness. Oats also contain antioxidants that work as anti-aging properties. The antioxidants could help reverse damage caused by UV rays, pollutants, and chemicals.
